STEP 1

So the first step starts with creating a wedding board – version one. This board is the all-in board. Everything goes in here. It is going to hold any images that seem exciting to you or catching your eye. Try to include some images of your venue and a colour palette. Colour Collective or Design Seeds are great colour palette sites to check out. This is where you can really just play and have fun. We recommend you sit with this board for a couple of days and just see what pins are really popping out to you. What pictures do you get excited about every time you look at them? Or what are the ones that you can’t wait to show your partner or your friends? Keep those in mind.

STEP 2

Now you are going to create a second board – version two. Pick out your favourite colour palette. And now pin those images that seem to be popping out at you. Here is where you will start to do a bit of editing. Use the colour palette to pick out images that have similar tones. As you will see, the board will start to look a bit more cohesive than the first. Colour is a great way to tie different styles and genres together.  Now go through and see what styles are consistently popping up. Are they more modern? More elegant? More natural and organic? This will help put you in the direction of your wedding design.

Here you will include all the pins that have the vibe you’re after. Try and include one image of the stationery, attire, ceremony, cocktail hour, reception, florals and cake. You may need to source some more images to really pull together your design to pull it together. We suggest placing descriptions under each image so your vendors can really understand what your design vision is. You should now have a general look and feel of your wedding.
