One of the best parts of being a stylist for weddings is dreaming up creative concepts with our incredible industry colleagues. This one was an absolute dream come true from start to finish.
We utilised a private property, which happened to have a stunning sandstone barn. It was magical with rustic wooden doors and windows that when opened send a dreamy stream of sunlight through to illuminate the space.
The whole team decided that if we were going to put on a shoot in the midst of a year with so many challenges, and frankly heartbreak, we were going to do it right. It would be the wedding inspiration shoot of all of our dreams! It turned out to be the perfect pick-me-up for all of us, who really needed a win at that time of 2020. Wild Heart Weddings coordinated the whole thing, bringing together the most amazing team of local wedding vendors to create a luxe wonderland.
Styling Details
The styling and flowers were designed to give the feeling of an ethereal romance with the perfect marriage (‘scuse the pun) of classic Old-English feel with modern classic styling. Our ceremony, tablescape and lounge area were laden with an abundance of candles in various sizes and styles. We used a natural linen tablecloth and layered each setting with rattan charger plates and yet more linen in a rich plum. The tablescape was finished with lots of luxe little details, like our brushed gold cutlery and champagne coup glasses.
Little J Designs created a stationery sweet that complemented the textures of the tablescape with a natural feel and clean, modern classic typography. Once the food came along, the menus were set aside and in came the dishes by Vanteen Catering that were as pretty as they taste.
Whenever we work with Willow Bud, we know we are going to create magic together. I really don’t think there’s anything to say about the incandescent floral arrangements they designed for our shoot – you can see the beauty for yourself below.
Making an absolutely delectable traditional centrepiece to the wedding reception is a tall three-tiered cake by the incredibly talented Zoë Clark Cakes. Finally, the barn wedding atmosphere was heightened considerably with the musical stylings of our fave local husband and wife duo, The Famos.
Barn Wedding Beauty and Fashion
The hair and makeup team consisted of Sass & Niki and Sally Townsend respectively. The sophisticated styles they created on model Viola were absolutely perfectly suited to team with the Karen Willis Holmes gowns that were worn. Check out the Mears Productions video below to see how the gowns move and flow so romantically.
The whole beautiful, perfect day was photographed by the incomparable Shae Estella Photo.
